Amorette Christine Zittrauer, 93, of Tybee Island, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025. Born on March 31, 1932, in Maui, Hawaii, she lived a full and vibrant life rooted in love, family, friendship, and service to her community.

She was the daughter of the late Wells and Rosalie Cummings. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wells Cummings Jr., her sisters, Genevieve Hilton and brother-in-law Mack Hilton, Audrie Burdick and brother-in-law Bill Burdick.

Amorette is survived by her loving family: her son, Perry (Peppy) Zittrauer III, and daughter-in-law Kathy Zittrauer; her grandson Travis Zittrauer (Brandi); granddaughter Nikki Chisholm (William), Great grandchildren Travis Zittrauer (Audrey), Landon Zittrauer (Sydney), Liam Chisholm, and Anderson Chisholm and her dear niece Gay Anderson, along with many other nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Amorette shared an unbreakable bond with her lifelong friends known as the “Hosti Girls” – her Tybee sisters – including Diane Ring, Snooky Cannady, Christina Norman (the daughter she never had), Betty Jane Hendrix, Karen Hogan, Angel King, Sandra Cornelius (Deceased) and Ann Carrol Trammel (Deceased) Together, they created countless memories and supported one another through every chapter of life. Also, the lone brother of the Hosti Girls, Michael “Spec” Hosti.

Throughout her life, Amorette was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She worked at the Miami Herald, the Chatham County Tag Office, the City of Tybee Island, and Chu’s Convenience Store. No matter where she worked, Amorette left a lasting impact through her kindness, resilience, and unmistakable spirit.

She will be remembered for her warmth, humor, fierce loyalty, and the unconditional love she gave to all who knew her. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so dearly.
